Largo looks pretty nice, although I've heard they are using a dongle of some kind with it. If that's true, it would definitely preclude me from buying it. The Blofeld is spectacular, though!

They use the SyncroSoft licensing system which can store keys via software or dongle. If you go the software route, you download the key from a server. This is not like "activaton" though as once you download the master key on the server is permanently deleted. So if you re-build a machine and don't manage your keys properly you'd have to get another key. The dongle solves this in a way as it allows you to use the software anywhere you plug the dongle in - but I for one hate dongles. You can only order this synth boxed right now and I'm not sure if the dongle comes in the box.

I don't care for SyncroSoft at all so I was a bit said to see this was what Waldorf went with. Rob Papen synths use it and I find it very cumbersome and fragile.

I realize the developers need to protect their assets but an activation system like Native Instruments is much beter IMHO.

There is a discussion on activation on KVR http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3671969
