Controlling Volumes with USB Headset/Mics when using Skype
I found a great little Windows XP utility that allows you to completely control audio volumes even if you are using multiple audio devices such as a sound card and a USB Headset/Mic. It's called Audio Sliders. It's soooo much better than the default windows volume controller and sits in your tray making it easy to get to without getting in the way of your normal work flow.
You can learn more and buy it here Audio Sliders.
It's perfect if you use Skype with a USB Headset as you can control the volumes going to and from your USB Headset/Mic separately from your sound card giving you complete control.
Here are some features:
- 5 user-defined layouts in an easy to use, skinnable interface.
- Supports multiple (concurrent) sound cards and mixers.
- Auto-hide and auto-rollup features (see screenshot).
- Dimensions: (width: 210 pixels, height: 16 pixels/slider)
- Includes volume sliders (track bars), on/off buttons, and front-to-rear faders.
- User-editable control captions (e.g., rename "AUX Volume" to "FM-Radio").
- Multiple language interface (17 languages included).
